A workshop titled “Human Rights: Concept and Pragmatic Aspects” was held on April 01, 2017 at Sherpur and Jamalpur. It was arranged by National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh (NHRCB) as a part of its outreach program at the district level with a view to creating awareness on Human Rights. The workshop was arranged at Sherpur from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm and then at Jamalpur from 02:00 pm to 06:00 pm on the same day. District Administration extended all kinds of support to facilitate this program.
The program was embellished with the vivid presence of distinguished participants from all sectors which include -government officials from District and Upazila level, NGOs, CSOs, CBOs, Journalists, representatives from educational institutions, religious institutions, local bar and so on.
At the Workshop successively 4 papers were presented on Human Rights and Role of NHRCB, Child Rights, Rights of the Persons with Disabilities and Migrant Worker’s Rights and afterwards the floor was left for open discussion in which the participants responded widely and spontaneously.

At the workshop Md. Nazrul Islam, Full-Time Member of NHRCB was present as Chief Guest, Police Supers were special guests and Deputy Commissioners of two districts chaired.
