National Human Rights Commission Bangladesh (NHRCB) observed Human Rights Day on 10^th December, 2016 at Rangamati in a befitting manner. The program launched with a rally followed by a fruitful discussion meeting. Rangamati witnessed a grand rally attended by almost 200 participants. The rally marched from the Rangamati DC office and ended at the District Shilpakola Academy where a discussion meeting was held. Mr.Jyotirindra Bodhi Priya Larma, the Chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council and guest of honor of the event highlighted the present scenario of the CHT people and demanded an end of the abuse and violence against them. Besides, he focused on the compliance of CHT Peace Accord and significance of education to the CHT people. Mr. Prakash Kanti Chowdhury, DC (In charge) of Rangamati and Md.Shafiul Sarwar, Additional Police Super of Rangamati were present as guest of honor and made remarks on human rights day. Finally, Ms. Banchita Chakma, member of the Commission and Chair of the event gave a vote of thanks to all guests and audience and concluded the meeting.
