On 18 September 2016, the 44^th meeting of National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh was held at its conference room. The commissioners discussed about finalizing recruitment rule and annual work plan, progress of setting out with regional offices in Rangamati and Khulna which were expected to come into operation from October 2016 etc. The commission also decided to make a 100-days plan for monitoring the implementation of the decisions taken upto now since its inception (on 2 August 2016).

The meeting also discussed about the recent inferno occurred on 10 September 2016 at Tampaco and decided to form a high level committee headed by NHRCB member Md. Nazrul Islam to identify if there was any negligence of the owner and relevant government actors behind the incident. The committee will also make necessary recommendations to the government.
